Ceramic dental plates

If you suffer from unsightly hollows between anterior teeth, wrong teeth colour or location, multiple fillings in the anterior teeth, you can use one of the high-tech procedures – sticking ceramic dental plates to your teeth.

What are ceramic dental plates?

Ceramic dental plates are thin ceramic plates, which are stuck directly to teeth. During a normal treatment, six ceramicplates are stuck to incisor and canine teeth of the upper jaw.

If your teeth are healthy, two visits are sufficient to apply the plates.

During the first visit, the doctor makes an print of client´s teeth and grinds them slightly under local anesthesia (max. 0,4 mm).

Before the laboratory finishes the plates (usually 10 days), the client gets a temporary denture. Temporary denture will be removed during the next visit and the correct shape of the plates will be checked. If the function and aesthetics of the plates are satisfactory, they can be applied (stuck permanently).

Are you a suitable candidate for ceramic dental plates?

With the help of ceramic dental plates, it is possible for ex. to correct unsightly hollows between anterior teeth, wrong teeth colour or location, anomalies in location of anterior teeth, aesthetic deficits caused by fractures or erosions of teeth or multiple fillings in the anterior teeth.

If you suffer from some of these problems, you can be a suitable candidate for ceramic dental plates.

If you suffer from some diseases, for example untreated paradontitis, multiple fillings or defects of enamel, the application of ceramic dental plates may be unsuitable for you.

Before the application

During the first consultationtalk to your doctor about your ideas concerning the look of your teeth. It is important for him to understand what you see as the biggest problem.

The doctor will also choose together with you the right colour tone for your plates.

Before the treatment, he will probably ask you about your general state of health, especially whether you suffer from allergy to some medicaments, for example Mesocain, Lidocain and other substances used in local anesthesia.

Anesthesia

The treatment is very gentle and is not accompanied by intensive pain. Slight teeth grinding and application of ceramic dental plates is done under local anesthesia, which guarantees you a painless treatment.

The application procedure of ceramic dental plates

If the client´s teeth are healthy, the application of ceramic dental plates is done in two phases. First, the print of teeth is taken. The teeth are then ground slightlymax. 0,4 mm.

The laboratory manufacturing of plates usually takes 10 days. The client can use temporary denture for this time period.

The plates will be checked during the second visit and if the function and aesthetics of the plates are satisfactory, they can be stuck (adhesion).

The plates are polished after the application to make the new look of your teeth perfect.

After the treatment

The doctor will provide you with all information concerning the care of ceramic plates. Most important is perfect mouth hygiene, which removes all plaque. It is necessary to be careful while biting in very hard pieces of food.

How long will the plates last?

Aesthetic stomatology disposes of ceramic dental plates with a very long life-span, high adhesion and colour stability.

The life span of ceramic dental plates however depends also on care of the teeth and gingiva, on quality of natural teeth and client´s manipulation with the plates.
