Hi,
Side Effects:Temporary soreness, swelling, change in nipple sensation, bruising. Breast sensitive to stimulation for a few weeks.
Risks: Lack of implant permanence -- surgical removal or replacement of the implants may be required to treat problems, including: deflation; the formation of scar tissue around the implant (capsular contracture), which may cause the breast to feel tight or hard; bleeding or infection. Increase or decrease in sensitivity of nipples or breast skin, occasionally permanent. Mammography requires a special technique. (Note: Some women have reported symptoms similar to those of immune disorders. Ask your doctor about these and other FDA concerns.)
Recovery:Back to work: 14days. Physical contact with breasts: 3 to 4 weeks. Fading of scars: several months to a year or more.
With best regards,

Thanks very much for your response Dr Hyza - it is breast augmentation. What would you suggest as the recommended period before I could look after my baby again alone. I have arranged for the childminder to collect her from home in the mornings for a week so I don't drive ( and she is full time with her Mon-Fri)and I have my husband in the evenings but is a week sufficient. My holiday is not until 6 weeks after surgery but it is an active holiday being 2 weeks of theme and water parks and I obviously want to be able to enjoy this with my children.
Thanks again

Hi! Unfortunately, you haven´t specified the type of breast surgery you are going to have. But you may not be able to do all you have mentined after one week and you will need longer time to recover after the surgery. Yours Dr. Hyza.
