Negative canthal tilt - Eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty) - Discussion

DC sent at Oct-11-2007 11:23:

Hello, I am suffering from negative canthal tilt, one eye being droopier and smaller than the other. Are there any occuloplastic surgeons experienced with repair of such a problem? I suppose my case would need canthopexy and probably a brow lift as well. Is there a way to get asian style eyes for an causasian female?

Hello. The complete examination why your eye is smaller and being droopier is necessary. I mean CT(computer tomography)of face bones which shows the size of eye sockets, distribution of fat atc. The surgeon decides in accordance to results about the operation. It is possible to get Asian style eyes by correction of internal and external canthus. By Tomáš Kydlíček, M.D.

Procedure

Eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty)Eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Blepharoplasty is performed when the eye lid droops or in case of creation of fatty bags under the eyes. Mostly it is a procedure performed under local anesthesia and both eye lids can be operated at the same time, the upper and lower. The extra skin, fat prolapses and sometimes also part of muscle are removed. Blood bruises and swellings often occur, they fade away within 6 months.
