Eyelid surgery

Eyelid surgery

I am only two weeks out of upper and lower lid surgery. From the afternoon of surgery I felt major discomfort on the exterior of my left eyelid. I mentioned this to the surgeon. I understand that it does take a while to heal, the swelling has gone down considerably but the lower lids continue to hang out from the eye ball giving a type of emaciated look. Also my left eye has a facet running. After two weeks I was most concerned that while the swelling has gone down, the lower lids are unchanged as far as being pulled away from the eyeball. I am fearful that this is NOT normal. Any advice is appreciated

Cosmetic surgery is the process that doesn’t just help you enhance your look but also assists you in getting rid of those scars and cuts. You can always help yourself to remove birth skin defects. There is the common misconception that only women go for cosmetic surgery in Miami but the tendency is wrong after seeing a 50% rise of men who utilize cosmetic surgery.

Hi Patricia, Some time is needed for the swelling to withdraw and for the scar to tighten the margins of the lower eyelids and the condition with your eyelids will probably get back to normal.

Hi Patricia It sounds like you have an ectropian. In the first instances I would massage the lower lids with cream in an upward and outward direction. It may be worth taping the lateral chheks upward to take the pressure off them. Please see your surgeon to confirm that you have an ectropian and to ensure there is no contra-indication to performing my suggestions (It is difficult for me to be sure without seeing you). Occasionally you will require further surgery to correct this. Good luck Vik Vijh

This is something that can happen, particularly with traditional surgery. Try stretching the lower lid margins upwards and if the problem persists, go back and see your surgeon.
