Tummy Tuck and Liposuction

annmarie sent at Jul-08-2008 0:43:

Hi, can anyone recommend the best surgeon to have a tummy tuck and liposuction in one go please. I live in the UK so would appreciate if anyone knows what sort of price I could be looking at for both procedures.

Thought I should also add that the clinic in the UK is the London Welbeck Clinic and they use it for those extreme makeover programmes. The one in Paris is just off the Champ De Lisse (spelling bad) and is meant to be one of the best around. Dr Phillipe Berrard is a GMC registered Doctor in the UK and has a very impressive resume in France and is also registered there. His PA is wonderful and so supportive - she met me at the clinic the day before and helped me with all the paperwork and comforted me and translated where I needed it. The clinic is really lovely. I think he also consults from Nottingham and one other clinic further north - the web-site tells you. I have pictures if you want me to send them.

I live in the UK - Surrey. I had my tummy tuck and lipo done four weeks ago. My surgeon was Philip Berrard and he consults from London and you have the op in Paris - in a lovely clinic, and then all your post-op care back in the UK. He is so lovely an very very good. He has his own web-site - simply french. If you copy this link it will take you to the clinic web-site - www.parisbeauty.co.uk My surgery cost £4400 in total. He removed 3kg from my tummy in the tuck and 2 and half litres fat from my sides and upper abdomen. I won't lie - it hurt like hell, but not the tuck itself as the nerves are cut and so it stays numb for a while, but the lipo hurt a lot. It felt like I was burning and was instantly black from bruising, however, the pain killers controlled that and it was bearable. The results are amazing and it is so worth it now that I can wear a size 14 dress instead of a size 22 from 5 weeks ago! My stomach still has swelling but it is practially flat and the sagging floppy belly that hung past my pubic area has gone totally! Everything has been pulled up as well as the skin being pulled down which is weird as my down below bits are a bit higher up but this has gone down slowly and is returning to normal everyday. My belly button looks great now and has almost healed right up. I didn't ahve my muscles cut as they were good and had not split when pregant. I have heard it is much more painful and you can't do so much when they do your muscles. I am just glad I didn't have then done as it has been a long painful journey but one I would do again tomorrow for the results. I took Tramadol painkillers which really helped and made me sleep. I still get tired in the day now and need to lay down and sleep but I can bend over and do light housework. I can do a lot more but I have noticed if I overdo it, I swell up in the evening and it is uncomfortable. I didn't have drains in as he said I didn't need them as having the lipo and also no muscle work. I went to Paris and had all my blood tests, cardio and met the anaesthetist on the Wednesday afternoon. I stayed in a hotel that night and then checked in at 7am at the clinic. I had a sleeping pill and slept til the Doctor came for me at 11am and I was out of surgery at 2pm. I was up out of my bed at about 7pm - all be it very slowly! I was discharged the following day at 2pm and took the Euro Star back to Ashford Kent. I was very tired and got sore on way home but was ok when I took some more painkillers (My husband came with me as you have to have someone collect you - also I took a cab to the train station as they don't like you to walk far, and you can't really anyway) I saw my surgeon in London a week later and he took of the sticky bandages and had a look at the scar. I see him again next week - stitches all dissolved and scar fused together. Looks good if a little red at the moment. Going to start using Bio-Oil after I speak to him. Never had to wear a corset like all these people talk about on the forums. The sticky bandages are taped around your front and sides and are almost like a corset supporting you the first week and it is like a big plaster coming off when he peels it off - but it feels so good!! Go for it, its the best thing I have ever done, despite doubting myself a few times but feeling like that is natural when you are uncomfortable but then all of a sudden it all got so much better and I feel much better now and love going clothes shopping, especially knowing that everyday I am getting smaller as the swelling goes down! Hope that all helps?....
