Sclerotization of varicose veins

Published: 2009-03-24. Updated: 2009-04-27

This treatment is suitable for so-called micro varicose veins – tiny red and bluish vessels smaller than 1 mm. By sclerotization a small needle is inserted into the outer vein, through which chemical substance is injected. It etches the wall of the vein. The vein is blocked and can be touched as solid ligament. Immediately after the procedure compression with elastic stockings or bandages is necessary. It is an out-patient procedure.
