In summer 2005, the ISCARE LIGHTHOUSE Clinic Centre launched operations at its new premises in the high-rise Lighthouse building on Jankovcova 1569/2c, Prague 7.

Two floors of this modern new building are now home to this unique healthcare facility, which ranks among the leading establishments in the Czech Republic in terms of the standard of equipment, technical parameters, the professionalism of its staff and the success rate of its treatment methods. In a total area of approx. 2000 m2, the centre has 29 beds, 2 Intensive Care Unit beds, 20 doctors and a 60-member healthcare staff.

Our comprehensive system of facilities in the three operating rooms, including a harmonic scalpel, laparoscopic tower, video gastroscope, video colonoscope and so forth, enables us to perform the most challenging operations. The audio-visual connection between the operating room and the conference room provides the opportunity for video conferencing, remote consultations and specialist consilia.

Plastic surgery

Increasing age of a person brings inevitable, sometimes slower, sometimes faster, changes of the whole organism. On one side we collect experiences and knowledge, on the other our body wears out. The best is to preserve a person in its full physical and mental capability for as long as possible, because even balanced person is resentful to signs of ageing. The goal of the aesthetical surgery is to correct and minimize the body abnormalities.

When is the time for the surgery?

Generally it is around the 40th year of life, but in reality it is very individual and depending on many factors. Some of the big factors are inheritability, way of living, workload and presence of stress in one's life. Part of ones look or appearance is also created by eating habits, regularity of skin care and health in general. Aging is very individual process, which demonstrates itself with drying up of skin, loss of its elasticity and slack skin in certain body parts. Skin folds and wrinkles start to form. And this is the moment when it is still possible to put off the signs of aging through the plastic surgery. The upper age limit for plastic surgery is determined by the overall health condition of the patient

Obesity Treatment Centre

Banding Club

The Banding Club aims to bring together patients who have had surgical and conservative obesity treatment, as well as others who have a problem with overweight and obesity and have not yet been treated, and those who have unsuccessfully tried to reduce their weight. The Banding Club is a place where they can all meet, share their experiences, advise one another, find a friend and enjoy a full social life.

Not least, the Banding Club is a place where they can informally consult specialists in obesity treatment about the ways to correctly deal with obesity and overweight and the associated problems.

Participation in the Club is clearly quite voluntary and free of charge. We primarily recommend it as a handy source of information on ways to treat obesity, as well as a place to make new contacts and friendships. We will be pleased to welcome you to the Banding Club and we will do everything to ensure that you enjoy the Club as a place for friendly meetings, discussions and guidance. We believe that you will be glad to keep coming back to the Banding Club.

Mini-invasive Surgery Centre

As a Mini-invasive Surgery Centre we perform a broad range of laparoscopic operations. Our Centre surgeons are experienced in performing adjustable stomach banding for obesity, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, esophageal hernia operations, reflux disorder operations, inguinal hernia operations, scar hernia operations and so forth.

We also perform other surgical operations, such as some classic stomach operations. We also operate on varicose veins in the legs.

We provide comprehensive treatment for disorders of the rectum, including operations on hemorrhoidal knots.

Patient care is covered at our healthcare establishment by medical insurance companies. Only those treatments not covered by the insurance companies are to be paid for separately.

Gastroenterology

This specialization deals with disorders of the digestive tract (esophagus, stomach, bowels, liver and pancreas). It is a field which on the one hand is part of internal medicine, but which on the other hand is also on the fringes of surgery, as a gastroenterologist performs some invasive operations which in the past were dealt with by a surgeon.

To diagnose digestive tract disorders, the doctor not only performs simple examinations, he also makes use of laboratory examinations (blood and urine), ultrasound and endoscopy. Ultrasound provides the doctor with information on the liver, gallbladder, biliary tract, pancreas, kidney, spleen, urinary bladder, prostate or womb and the large vessels. This is a painless and quite harmless (non-invasive) examination.
