Laser Eye Surgery

Laser refractive surgery at Oční klinika (Eye Clinic) in Horní Počernice. The LASIK technique by the Zeiss femtosecond laser, for the first time in Bohemia.

Laser eye surgeries have already been carried out here for more than three years. Currently, Oční klinika Horní Počernice, s.r.o. (Eye Clinic) has bought the latest type of the Zeiss laser. This is a completely new type of laser that uses the combination of the most modern cut by means of the femtosecond laser that, contrary to previous surgeries, creates more precisely and safely the corneal lamella the thickness of which can be specified (set) by the surgeon according to the size of the eye defect and the individual structure of the eye. Also contrary to the previous keratomes, not only the thickness of the lamella, but also the length of cut can be set. Fixation for the femtosecond laser is safer and the vacuum in fixation is not so high and damages less the conjuctive. All of it reduces the risks when creating the lamella and increases the precision of this procedure. After the lamella is created, the proper excimer laser surgery follows. The patient is turned together with the bed, the eye is fixed for the proper ablation of the corneal stroma, and dioptres are removed. Then the lamella is carefully applied back.
