Dusan Zaruba M.D.

Dusan Zaruba M.D. is a chief surgeon of department of plastic surgery of Institute of Aesthetic Medicine, with more than twenty years of experience in the specialty of aesthetic surgery.

He graduated from Charles University of Medicine in Prague. After attestation in general surgery he worked since 1985 as a surgeon at the department of plastic surgery at Institute of Medical Cosmetics under direction of Karel Fahoun M.D., Sc.D.. At present he works as a chief surgeon at Institute of Aesthetic Medicine.

A year after attestation in the specialty of plastic surgery in 1993 he became a chief surgeon of the Institute of Medical Cosmetics, today’s Institute of Aesthetic Medicine. He worked several years at the Second Surgical Clinic of Charles University and at the Clinic of Plastic Surgery at Faculty Hospital Kralovke Vinohrady in Prague 10. He took part on several foreign internships at clinics in USA and France.

He is a member of Czech Society of Aesthetic Surgery of Czech Medical Association J.E. Purkyne, Czech Society of Plastic Surgery and Czech Society for the Use of Lasers in Medicine JEP, International Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery a European Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

He is an author of many specialized articles. He publishes also in daily newspapers and magazines, where he tries to ease the access and to explain the newest possibilities of its specialty also to general public. He is one of the authors of a book Surgery for beauty, which was published in 1999 by Maxdorf.

The book aimed at general public contains not only different procedures of plastic surgery but it also shows new possibilities of this still developing specialty by using new techniques and devices such as lasers, endoscopic surgeries and so on.
